Delhi: NSA Takes action against 5 accused in Jahangirpuri violence

Delhi: Delhi Police commissioner Rakesh Asthana on tuesday ordered that the stringent National Security Act be taken against five of the accused in eh Jahngirpuri communal violence case.The development comes a day after home minister Amit Shah asked Police commissioner Rakesh Asthana to take strict action against the rioters and set an example in order to prevent such incidents.

The Nsa has been slapped on main accused Mohammed Ansar, Salim Chinka, Yunus Imaran Sheikh, Alias Sonu chinka, Dilshad and Ahir. A proposal of this effect was submitted by the crime branch and cleared by the top officer on Tuesday. Though invocation of Nsa is common for controlling law and order in other states, it's rare in Delhi. The last time when Nsa was used in Delhi was around 2009-10, a senior official recalled.
